Chateau Elan Spa Experience

Chateau Elan Winery & Resort is a local gem that we love to take advantage of for date nights & special occasions. Not only is it a major leisure destination for all, but it’s also known to be a spectacular golf and country club community.

Let me just start by saying that if you haven’t experienced a spa day before…it is a MUST! Whether you go as a couple, on a girls outing, or even alone – there is something so rejuvenating about spending a day relaxing & without your phone. I committed to spending the day to focus on me and taking my mind out of the endless cycle of social media, family group text, & emails.

Spa Details

There are various options when looking to spend time at the Spa. You can book services as an overnight guest or just for the day. They even have a separate day pass that allows you to enjoy the Spa Facilities without booking a massage, facial, or other service. More about that here.

Seth selected a package that he thought I would enjoy the most & purchased a gift certificate for me as a Christmas gift (Best gift ever!). By purchasing a package, I was able to use all of the Spa facilities prior to and after my spa service appointments – more on this later. The package price also included all taxes & gratuities for the services. Spa Day Journey package options are listed below:

Lunch : Fleur-de-Lis

There was a great selection for food options included with the package. You can view the menu here. I was given the choice of a breakfast option, a salad with my choice of add on, or an entree. I opted for the Spa Signature Crabcakes with a glass of wine from the Fingerprint Collection called Nancy.

My favorite part of the lunch, aside from the lakeside view, was that I was able to enjoy it in my spa robe & slippers. I also loved that there was no concern about a check or tipping since it was included in my package.

Amenities

When you book a spa treatment or day journey, you receive complimentary access to all of the Spa Facilities. You are welcome to arrive prior to your services or linger after to enjoy these. My first service started at 9:45 am so I decided to take advantage of the additional access and arrived before 8:00 am to join a Cardio Exercise class at the Fitness Studio. The Spa Facilities you can take advantage of are:

  • Spa Whirlpool
  • Dry Sauna
  • Wet Eucalyptus Steam Room
  • Indoor saltwater Swimming Pool
  • Outdoor Sun Deck
  • Locker Room with makeup/hair stations
  • Robe and Slippers for use while in the Spa Facilities
  • Snack & Tea bar with fruit infused water
  • Fitness Center and Fitness Classes
  • Afternoon Tea from 4pm – 5:30pm

The fitness class was led by a personal trainer and they had three different classes being held the Sunday that I was there. Cardio Exercise, Yoga Flow, & Yoga Stretch. Each were 50 minutes long. Due to my service times, the 8 am Cardio Exercise class was the only one I would be able to attend. You can look at the class offerings for each day of the week here.

Spa Day Pass

The Spa Day Pass allows overnight guest or day guest to enjoy the facilities mentioned above without needing to book a spa service or treatment. These passes are not available on Saturdays or Holidays. They are $50 Monday-Thursday & $100 Friday or Sunday.

My Spa Day

Seth decided that the Chateau Wine Down Package was the best option for me & I couldn’t have agreed more! As a reminder, this package included:

  • Chateau Customized Facial (55 minutes)
  • Antioxidant Soak OR Cabernet Hot Stone Pedicure
  • Chateau Swedish Massage (50 minutes)
  • Gourmet Spa Lunch
  • Glass of Chateau Elan Wine

As I mentioned earlier, my service appointments started at 9:45 am so I arrived early to try the Fitness Class. I loved the personal trainer, Cindy, & was really glad that I woke up early to give the class a try. She was very encouraging and pushed me during the workout. I was able to come away with a lot of new exercises I could try at home with minimal equipment when I can’t make it to the gym. After the class, I went back to the Women’s locker room to shower and change into my Spa robe & slippers.

The locker room is so luxurious. There are multiple showers, changing rooms, beauty bars, a sauna, and a steam room. Everything you could possibly need is there for your use. I’m talking shampoo, conditioner, body wash, Eucalyptus Shower mist (it was so heavenly, I’ve order some for my shower at home!), razors, Q-Tips, bobby pins….the list goes on. You’re invited to wait for your service in the lounge area of the locker room, a separate waiting room, or the Quiet Room.

I waited for about 10 minutes in the waiting room before my masseuse came to take me back for my massage. We had a quick discussion about what I was looking to get out of the massage & she left for me to get ready. The massage table was warm & the heat was adjustable based on my liking. The massage was extremely relaxing & I thought the masseuse did a really good job of spending the right amount of time on each area.

After my massage, I was taken to a different room for an aromatherapy bath. I was given a disposable swim suit to wear so the attendant could help me into & out of the tub. The single person jet tub was phenomenal. The attendant added some tea & half a bottle of red wine to my bath water before leaving for me to enjoy & relax. I was given a wet hand towel in a bag of ice to use throughout the bath & it definitely came in handy. The attendant provided some water for me to drink throughout at well.

After my bath, I had around an hour to kill before going to the restaurant for lunch. I decided to spend my time in the quiet room. This room is meant to be utilized for complete relaxation. Cell phones & talking are not allowed. They have chaises throughout with blankets for you to use. My masseuse brought me a glass of wine while I waited & then came back to get me when it was time for lunch.

After lunch, I returned to the waiting room until it was time for my facial. This was my first experience getting a facial & it will not be my last. The esthetician was extremely knowledgable & did a great job talking me through the process so I would feel at ease. She even massaged my arms & hands while any creams or gels were soaking on my face. My face felt buttery smooth afterwards. She recommended a couple of products that she felt would benefit me, but she was never pushy. I really appreciated the lack of pushiness to purchase the products & was thankful for the respect I was given after letting her know that I wasn’t interested at the time (that isn’t often the case). She also recommended that I stay away from the sauna after receiving the facial – I was unaware that it would be an issue. I did opt to go spend a little time in the hot tub afterwards. The hot tub overlooks the lake & really helped bring the day to a close.

I highly recommend The Spa at Chateau Elan & already have plans to return in a few months. If you have any questions at all about the spa or my experience, be sure to comment or message me!

….Ton Voyage!
